A predominantly sand and shingle beach with some gravel depending on tides, Eypemouth is backed by blue lias clay cliffs. The cliff tops surrounding the beach are rife with camping and caravan sites while a small stream runs through a valley before dispersing through the sand. A sewer overflows discharges some 300m upstream of the beach into the Eype Stream which flows to the sea across the beach.
