Shanklin

Status: No water quality alerts in place

Shanklin forms part of the famous long sandy stretch of Sandown Bay on the south east coast of the Isle of Wight. The southern end of the beach is backed by cliffs and a rock ledge while the resorts esplanade can be found at the northern end. There are two sewer overflows that may affect bathing water quality here - one to the north at Hope Beach and another that discharges directly onto the beach.
